Plans coming together

Now we have AP BW topics, are preparing activities on Joseph for Kolkata BW, have sent the visa's off, have paid for flights from Kolkata to Delhi and now just waiting to work out an adventure to somehow find a train that goes from Agra to Delhi in time for us to fly out.
And so ready to be at the BW's teaching... visiting the bre & sis in Srik. Catching up with sisters & friends in Bangalore, having a cyc and prayer circles.

3 weeks tonight and it'll be the night before we leave GW.

But I hope that Christ will interupt our prep.

Tonight was a baptism of a dear friend. Karly was just so so happy and so sweet as she took on the name of Christ and became a friend of God. Such a joy to see.
We've now had 3 baptisms in the 2.5 weeks and another friend is getting baptised on Sunday :-)
SO many more convicted before Christ returns :-)

Pray our Father continues to be with us as we continue our prep for India.

The bible week dates now seem reasonably set, so we've rebooked our flights to fly into Hyderbad on the 22nd September and we're flying home a month later from Delhi on the 23rd October GW.

Now it's time to sort the visa's and collate the SS lessons, and before long it will be time to fly:-) YAY.

Good Samaritan thoughts

On another note,
had a fantastic bible class on Wednesday by Brother Tim Colliver. He started by helping us understand the implications of touching a half dead or dead man for each of the parties involved.
The Jews listening to Christ would have been waiting for Christ to say that the hero who came along was an Israelite, and would have been very shocked to hear that it was a Samaritan. They had got to the point in their laws (aural, I think) where they had defined neighbour as fellow Jew so that they really didn't have to help Samaritans or anyone who wasn't one of themselves at all.
The most interesting point for me came right at the end. The Lawyer was after a good debate and so would have been annoyed when Christ took him right back to scripture to answer his question. He then weasles round the answer, and asks more about the only thing that could possibly delve into further. 'Who is my neighbour?'
Christ had answered that you had to give your all to serve the Lord; -
heart= thoughts or feelings
soul = breath of God in us
strength = focus or might
mind = understanding.

But who are our neighbours? Are we looking out for our neighbours to see who we can help, or are we philosophically explaining that that person couldn't possibly be our neighbour? Our neighbour is the person we loathe the most. The person whose morals aren't scriptual. Are we doing our best to be neighbour to these people, or are we shunning them?

We are the half dead man, and the priest and levite have passed on before with the Law. Christ has given up everything to save us from our dying state.... do we want to be saved? What is our response?

Bible Week Malarkey

As of 4pm 4th August I was emailed new plans Re: bible week dates.
Conference venue for the Kolkata one is currently under construction and won't be available for use until the 16th October.
This leaves two options.. to ok another venue for the original dates twice as expensive as the first, or
to shift the bible week back to the 16th October.
& the AP week is Indian 'firmly' set for the 9-15th October.

By 6pm, the Indian Education Department had definitely decided the September-October school holidays and the AP bible week is now 'set' to be the 25th October to the 1st October.

We await to hear an update from Bro David Caudery on Kolkata.

By 8:30 it had ceased to be an issue as we were focussing on 'remaining separate' and being Holy as we have been asked by God.

India for 2006

Preparations are well underway for our trip :-)
Injections have been had, flights have been booked and payed for.

The itinerary is still under construction while we wait on the Indian Education Department to decide on which weeks the school holidays are. The bible weeks rely on the school campuses for accomodation, so the students have to evict the presinct before we arrive.

SS lessons have been chosen for preparation:
Joseph &
Lessons from Acts

ONLY 60 days to go God Willing :-)
