Weekend away

Abigail Coish (previously St Johns, New Foundland, now living in Adelaide member of Cumberland for a year) and I decided that instead of taking one day off work on the 16th December and driving 18 hours one way to get to Ayres Rock and then back in the same weekend WITHOUT air conditioning, that we would take some time out to head down to the beach and do something a little more relaxing.

It was a tremendous weekend. We left after the Heritage presentation night in which Jen graduated, went out for supper then about 12 started the trip down to the coast!!

We arrived, and got confused with the keys and ended up breaking in on an elderly couple (imagine the embarrassment) who had probably been snuggled up for the night for some hours by the time we wretchedly broke in on their dreams!!

After a few more goes we found the right unit and settled down.. not sure if anyone was able to break into our unit.

We spent the days at the beach, reading, relaxing, walking, talking. Such a necessary thing.

Mum and Dad drove down later and we had memorial with them Saturday evening on a massive stretch of rocks watching the waves. Very amazing.
