Quote from yesterday

'But now we are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve not under the old written code but in the new life of the spirit'.

I think this quote stuck out as I really liked the theme 'walking in the spirit' from the last couple of chapters of Galatians. The fruits of the spirit need to be our way of life, our conversation, not some beautiful words chained together in one verse!

Also helps explain the freedom we have in Christ. The life of the spirit is living by faith.

I live by faith of the son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me

The conference was absolutely amazing, more to come.... but I'd say we really explored what the quote above meant throughout the week. Our mornings began by looking in detail at one or more of the fruits of the spirit.

I'm trying to think those words every day when I wake up...

The more you can make the time to meditate, the easier it is to respond to the grace and love that's been shown to us undeserving people.

'only faith working through love' counts for anything.

SOO.... walk by the spirit.

Our Lord is coming soon, to reward those in whom he can see parts of his own character.


'And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus'.

Two Quotes to contemplate

Matt 10v40
Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me. Ties nicely in with Matt 25 judgement scene 'Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me'.
& (42) Whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truely, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward'.

11v28
Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Such a comforting passage!

No more days of work, 1 day left till Conference

YAY!!
I'm getting excited!!

One whole day to complete study ;-) and pack and then GW I'll be on my way!!
Then a WHOLE week in fellowship with other young people from all around Australia.

Really can't believe that now we're living in 2007. Seems a little crazy that another whole year has just flown by, but means that we're even closer to our Master's return.
Keep focussed.
Keep watching with lamps burning brightly... our King can't be too long away.
