Thoughts from the Uk
I've just spent a month in the Uk. It flew by. 2 weeks in Acocks Green at Becky Paul's, a night with the Mile's, and with Chris & Chris, in Swansea with the Stevenson's, 3 nights at Ruth Perry's, a week in Shropshire at UKYC, a weekend at the Bucklers, a night with Dave & Bec Morahan in London. A meal with Dave & Liz Burke, with Jordan, Liz, & Liv, a couple with Sarah & John Owen, with Si Watts, an evening at Olivet singing our hearts out, an afternoon with SophEE King.
Twice we planned camping but the weather was against us (and my asthma) both times.
So many hours spent in amazing fellowship with incredible brothers and sisters. I am well blessed. To be here & there. To share scripture and learnings. To meet more of my family oversea's and to discover many more kindred spirits.
The moments of sunshine stand out to me the most from this past month. A Handsworth afternoon in Myriam, Rachel & Sarah's garden; an afternoon in Cardiff Bay with RuthE Perry, Luke Buckler & Dean Tennant; Walking around Roath Park in Wales; Brunch on Naomi Snellings scaffolding balcony; a peace half hour on geese lake; & walking along Gospel Lane. And also some RLA's: a rainy beachwalk at the Gower; preparing for a birthday party in flooding conditions; spent an afternoon being artistic in Beck's flat while it rained outside and there are sure to be others that I will remember later.
UKYC.
The first ever.
Theme was Christ.
in OT, the Disciples' Christ and the closeness of Christ's return.
Amazing.
A week of spiritual nourishment that took us to the top of the mountain with our Lord and fellow disciple's.
I met so many new ppl, spent time with old friends, and had quite the suprise when my sister showed up at conference a week earlier than she was supposed to be in the uk.
Enjoyed having the same group of people for reading and discussion groups during the week.
Loved the day at Stratford-upon-Avon, the praise night, the Jazz at the English Tea Party, the thoughts of the kingdom.
The sun shone in Shropshire all week.
we were well blessed.
then it was back to Brum for a final weekend of goodbye's and sharing. A meal with the post conference group at the Paul's, a delicious Sunday Lunch in the sun prepared by Sarah Buckler, an afternoon in the Park, and more final goodbye's before bussing to London.
